World Modem™ NET
The
World Modem™ NET is a compact, integrated 2400 to 56K baud Internet-capable
modem that features World Modem™ compatibility. The World Modem™ NET provides
an Internet communication interface that shifts the burden and complexity of Internet
communications away from the embedded application and simplifies it via an extended
AT command set. The modem features a transformer-less DAA that meets global
telephone system requirements, a flexible DSP data pump, and no electromechanical
components. The modem supports
serial host communications via a flexible internal UART. The modem conforms
to the industry-standard World Modem™ mechanical and interface specifications. Future
models of the World Modem™ NET will support user I/O pins, SPI and I2C interfaces.
In addition, the Internet engine may be bypassed. This allows direct
access to the modem to perform other functions, such as sending or receiving
faxes (specific models), connect to other non-Internet servers and much more.
All World Modem products are complete modem solutions. No external
components are needed to interface to the phone line. Just add a telcom
connector and you are on your way. Additional chokes and filters add
considerable space and cost.
